TOLEDO, Ohio (WUPW) - A new locally owned and operated business is up and running in Toledo.
The Organic Garden Center, located on Monroe Street in West Toledo, focuses on indoor and outdoor gardening with an emphasis on organic principles and techniques.
Owner Craig Gaertner is encouraging others to set up their own indoor gardens to benefit their health and the environment.
"The food supply is pretty unhealthy," he said. "They use a lot of pesticides and whatnot in the wholesale supply business, and a lot of food goes to waste. It's very wasteful. So if you're actually doing it inside or out you actually save a lot of natural resources."
Gaertner's goal is to make Toledo a more green city.
