TOLEDO, Ohio (WUPW) - Assistance is still needed for the relief and recovery efforts following the devastating storms and tornadoes last weekend.
TO VOLUNTEER IN THE CLEAN-UP EFFORT:
- Call 2-1-1 or (800) 650-HELP 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for information on volunteering.
FUND RAISING
- The Black Swamp Outlaws Wood Co 4-H Club will be giving $5 Horse rides this Sat, June 26th from 11 am - 3 pm, Rain or Shine, to raise Money for the Tornado victims of Lake Township. We will also have a Bake sale. The event will be held at Fantasy Acres 13830 Roachton Rd, Perrysburg, Oh.
- Texas Roadhouse restaurant at 6137 Trust Drive in Toledo will be a hosting a fund-raiser night to benefit victims of the June 5 tornados. On Monday, June 28, from 4:00p.m. to 10:00p.m., the restaurant will donate 10% of the evening’s rib sales to the American Red Cross. Call 419-866-4890 for more information.

- Visit the Red Cross distribution center at Mainstreet Church in Walbridge for those in need of food, clothing, cleaning or hygiene supplies. This location will be open from 9 am - 9 pm for individuals to come and pick up items until further notice.
- Those seeking physical labor help for clean-up can contact the 705 office to have a team dispatched to their location.
- In WOOD COUNTY: Individuals displaced by the storms can call the American Red Cross at 419-329-6060 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Please give your new contact information so they may contact you with vital recovery information.
LEGAL ASSISTANCE
- The Wood County Bar Association has made arrangements to conduct a free legal clinic for individuals most affected by the recent tornado damage in Lake Township and the surrounding area. The clinic will be held at Cedar Creek Church, 29129 Lime City Road, Perrysburg, Ohio on Thursday evening July 1, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The intent of the clinic is to provide legal information to those individuals who may have questions connected to storm damage or related issues.
Volunteer attorneys will be available to provide brief legal advice to eligible tornado victims for their individual issues.
Those who need full legal assistance will be provided guidance on who to approach including various legal service agencies. Those who qualify will be directed to volunteer attorneys who are available on a pro bono basis.

Renew Ohio will provide $20 million to assist business owners, farmers, and homeowners by providing a three percent interest rate reduction on loans over a two-year period. Rebuild Ohio will assist homeowners financing the restoration of their homes through the use of construction loans by providing a three percent interest rate reduction on those loans for up to a one-year period.

- Gold Star Pet Resort located in northern Bowling Green, will be offering free temporary emergency boarding for dogs and cats starting Monday, June 7, for those whose houses were damaged during last night's storms.
