TOLEDO, Ohio (WUPW) - Fifth Third Field, home of the Toledo Mud Hens , has taken on a whole new look.
The facility went from ballpark to movie set Thursday morning as the sports movie "Home Run Showdown" continues filming.
The movie is about a handful of misfit kids playing in a Little League tournament for the chance to shag balls in a Major League home run derby. Some of the movie is being filmed in Toledo and Metro Detroit.
"Any time I can get inside a football stadium or a baseball ballpark or any sports stadium, for me it's not even work," Cain said. "I'm happy to be here and I have to say this stadium is unbelievable."
If you're interested in being an extra in the crowd, you can go to the ballpark Friday between 2-8 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
The film crew said you don't have to be at the ballpark the entire time.
Talent scouts were in Maumee last week to search for youth baseball players to be part of the movie.
"Home Run Showdown," directed by Oz Scott, is expected to be released in 2011.
