BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Vacationing in Florida two weeks ago, Sara George Lewis of Bowling Green saw people having fun wave riding in the ocean with boogie boards and promptly went to the store to buy her own.
Within hours of its purchase, she used it to save the lives of a mother and her three children.
Now home, Lewis and her husband, Tech Sgt. Joe Lewis, with the 180th Fighter Wing Air National Guard, shared an incredible story of her being at the right place at the right time when the four were struggling to stay afloat from a riptide which had sucked them into deep water.
The Lewises and two other young couples decided to vacation at a timeshare in Daytona Beach belonging to Lewis' mother, Suzanne Bowles of Perrysburg. They arrived Aug. 16.
