TOLEDO, Ohio (WUPW) - Toledo police detectives are investigating an attempted abduction of a kindergartner at Longfellow Elementary School that took place Tuesday afternoon.
According to detectives, the kindergarten student and her teacher were outside on school grounds when they were approached by a man. The man said he was there to pick the student up.
The unidentified male told the teacher and student that he worked with the student's mother. The kindergartner told the teacher that he or she didn't know the man.
The teacher took the student back into the school and called police.
Longfellow Elementary, located on Jackman Road in Toledo's west end, is part of the Toledo Public Schools district.
