PORT CLINTON, Ohio (WUPW) - The Ottawa County woman found guilty of not properly caring for her horses will have to wait before she learns her punishment.

She was scheduled to be sentenced Friday in Ottawa County, but the case was continued. The defense filed a few motions and the judge still has to review them. A new sentencing date has not been set.

Robin Vess was found guilty of 42 counts of animal cruelty back in April. She could get 18 months in prison and a fine of more than $30,000.

Authorities found more than 31 emaciated Arabian horses on her property in Oak Harbor back in January.

Six animals were put down, others are now in foster care.
