1 dead in strip club stabbing

ERIE, Mich. (WUPW) - Monroe County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a fatal stabbing of a 27-year-old man at the Alcatraz Gentleman's Club in Erie, Mich.

The fatal stabbing took place at around 2:30 a.m. Thursday in the club's parking lot.

The male victim, identified as Michael Gorowski of Maybee, Mich., was rushed to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. He was later pronounced dead.

Four suspects were taken into custody, the sheriff's department said. Charges are pending.

Detective Sgt. Heath Velliquette said the four suspects and the victim knew each other. He said the detective bureau is looking into the possibility that this incident may have had something to do with a previous incident involving the victim and the four suspects.

The county sheriff said Alcatraz was in the process of closing when the incident occurred.

The gentleman's club is located on Telegraph Road.

The incident remains under investigation.

UPDATE MARCH 12

One of the four suspects, 22-year-old Shawn Wyatt, was arraigned in First District Court in Monroe on Friday.

Wyatt, of Bolles Harbor, Mich., is charged with open murder.

Monroe County Sheriff detectives believe Wyatt is the person who stabbed Mr. Gorowski.


UPDATE MARCH 16

Detectives in Monroe County are looking for a key witness in the March 11 fatal stabbing of a man outside the Alcatraz Gentleman's Club.

Detectives said the witness was in the club's parking lot when Mr. Gorowski was fatally stabbed.

The key witness is described as a white mail in his mid-to-late-40s. He was wearing glasses, has short blond hair and left the club in a white or light-colored semi rig.

Detectives only want to talk with the man as a witness.
