TOLEDO, Ohio - April 15th is tax day.

If you're waiting for the last minute to file your taxes, plan to have them ready by the end of the business day.

No area post offices will stay open late for tax day. So in order to get your taxes post marked April 15th, you need to have them in the mail before the last posted pick-up.

In the past, post offices have stayed open late on tax day.  However, with 65 percent of taxpayers filing electronically, along with the need to cuts costs, the U-S Postal Service has ended the practice all together.

Craig Cummings from the U-S Postal Service says, "We've downsized the number of employees we have in our building and there is just no need for us to keep peope out on the street.  Last year things wrapped up by 11:00-11:30 and we were just out there for convience factor."

The last pickup for the post office in downtown Toledo will be at six o-clock. The Reynolds Corner station along with the post offices in Sylvania and Maumee will be open until 5:30pm.  Bowling Green, Rossford, and most other Toledo branch offices will have their last pickup at 5:00pm.

The postal service recommends filing for an extension if you don't think you be able to get them in on time.
