55 laid off at UTMC

SOUTH TOLEDO - The University of Toledo Medical Center will lay off 55 employees due to the stagnant economy.
Hospital officials said 55 people received layoff notices this week but some of those employees can be moved into other open positions.
The cuts are in a number of departments but hospital officials said no doctors or nurses were given pink slips.
