Sharia Davis is a reporter for FOX Toledo News and FOX Toledo News Weekend.
Sharia Davis joined FOX Toledo News as a freelance reporter in July 2007. She can now be seen doing more frequent reporting on weekday editions of FOX Toledo News.
A native of Cleveland, Sharia joins the FOX Toledo team as a
former general assignment reporter from WHAG NBC25 News in
Hagerstown, MD.
While an undergrad at Howard University, Sharia stayed busy
preparing for a career in journalism. She wrote radio scripts at
WTOP AM for news anchors and reporters. She also interned in the
Public Affairs Office of the Federal Trade Commission. There,
she wrote press releases and maintained contact with news
reporters.
After Sharia graduated from Howard U with a degree in
Broadcast Journalism, she chose to remain in Washington, D.C., and
continued to pursue a career in media.
Sharia's determination caused her to acquire valuable
journalism experience in our nation's capital while working for NBC
News and MSNBC Washington. She wore many hats functioning as
a producer, assignment desk editor, researcher, and desk assistant.
She served as the MSNBC Capitol Hill Producer for news
correspondents and field produced for NBC Nightly News with Tom
Brokaw and the TODAY Show. Sharia also assisted with
coordinating breaking news, and other programs such as Abrams
Report, Hardball, and Lester Holt Live.
When she's not in front of the camera, Sharia enjoys reading,
listening to music, and spending time with family and
friends.
She's thrilled about embarking on this new journey with FOX
Toledo News and works hard to bring viewers the finest news
coverage possible. Sharia's glad to be back in Ohio, her home
state, continuing to learn everything there is to know about the
Glass City.
